We are delighted to feature Saint Lucia as one of our Caribbean treasures, as like no other island in this renowned region, it rewards those who dare to step outside of their resort.
The majestic twin ‘pitons’ or peaks (named Petit and Gros) located on the southwest coast near the town of Soufriere are the symbols of this stunning island and were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 (You can even choose to climb Gros which takes around 4 – 5 hours at 2,619 feet). The dense rainforest offers hikes through lush, indigenous foliage and the rare opportunity to spot the Amazona Verisolor. It is also home to a host of additional exciting activities including zip wiring. Additional attractions to visit include one of the world’s few drive-in volcanoes which allows guests to experience the sights and scentes of bubbling mud and sulphur springs as well as whale watching. Boat trips can result in sightings of pods of spinning and spotted dolphins as well as pilot, sperm and orcas.
This is not to stay the coastline beyond this dramatic backdrop is not stunning. With palm-fringed, picture perfect beaches reaching out to some excellent sailing and diving opportunities, relaxation or rejuvination are equally available!
