Please note: these are inclusive in price unless otherwise stated.

• Pool: A fenced granite pool in a central setting (a second pool is available for guests of the ‘Four Quarters’ accommodation option, but does not allow children).
• Beauty Treatments: Massages, reflexology and pedicures/manicures are available in room for a charge. Alternatively why not purchase an item from the Bath Menu, such as ‘Total Therapy’ which includes ‘oils, candles and all things nice’!
• Cinema: The Screening Room allows guests to enjoy celebrated classics from the comfort of one of 24 arm chairs, with drinks and eats to hand, for a nominal charge.
• Transfers within the Franschhoek Valley.

Bars & Restaurants

• The Tasting Room , a new concept masterfully created by the award-winning chef, will present guests with three menus, offering tasting portions of up to eight courses with the option of appropriate wine pairing.
• iCi Café serves vibrant food incorporating the best of French, Malay and South African cuisine, in a casual and intimate atmosphere.
• The Bar offers a light menu as well as a wide selection of drinks.

Overview

The (Very Important Kid) programme, including baby listening and gift on arrival, will ensure a warm welcome for families.

Looking after younger guests

The VIK programme includes:

• Welcome goodies (sweets and drink) for age 2+ (please make a request if you would like this for younger age group).
• Children’s DVD selection and cinema screenings (generally on Saturday mornings for a charge).
• Children’s Bath Menu including fun sponge, animal bath plug (for a charge).

Children’s Meals

• Bespoke Meals available on request, served in your room or at the Café.

Babysitting & Supervised activities

• Baby-listening: Complimentary service (telephone connected to reception) available – the only we have found in South Africa!
• Babysitting: In-house staff also provide baby-sitting services.

Rooms types

All rooms (except the Cottage) offer air-conditioning, underfloor heating, complimentary WiFi, Flat Screen TV and DVD, wood burning fireplace and complimentary transfers within Franschhoek.

10 Auberge rooms (40 square metres) set in pretty cottages around the pool are individually styled, with modern touches and spacious seating areas with spectacular views of the mountains. Complimentary refreshment trays are provided.

The sumptious appointments of the 3 Grande Rooms (50 square metres) make them ideal for Honeymooners. Facilities included a DVD and iPod docking station.

2 Petite Garden Suites (45 square metres) look out on to their own secret corner garden. They also benefit from DVD and iPod docking station.

Auberge Suites (approx 80 square metres) boast a private walled garden with swimming pool, ideal for those seeking privacy and space. A full complimentary bar is offered, Nespresso machine and pre-dinner snacks.

The Four Quarters features 4 exclusive suites (110 square metres) with private pool and bar/lounge area enhanced by 24 hour butler service (please note no children under 14 in this section unless all 4 suites are booked).

The Cottage, situated just across from the main house, offers comfortable accommodation in 2 en-suite bedrooms, fully furnished kitchen, laundry room and 2 spacious lounger areas that open on to a private plunge pool. An additional 3-Bedroomed House will also be available from 2010.

Family

• Auberge Rooms can accommodate a child in a cot whilst several alos feature a sleeper couch for up to 2 children under 12.
• Auberge Suites also offer ideal family accommodation with an additional Loft Bedroom for up to 2 children under 12. A Wii is also provided alongside a choice of games and DVD’s!
• The Cottage also provides accommodation for up to 4 plus 2 additional children under 12 on a sleeper couch in the Lounge area.

Rates

Rates from £160 per night per adult sharing, inclusive of Bed & Breakfast in an Auberge Room (valid 01/10/11 – 31/09/12).

Upgrade cost of £190 per adult sharing to a Four Quarters Suite (please note a full complimentary bar is provided as well as breakfast with this rate).

Family

• Children under 2 years in a cot free of charge.
• Children under 12 sharing charged approx £36 per night when sharing an Auberge Room.
• Children sharing an Auberge Suite stay free of charge.

The Hotel and Restaurants support the local Franschhoek Hospice and Soup Kitchen. They also have an in-house training programme for staff from the local community.
