Overview

Children of all ages are welcome at Impodimo and the lodge offers a superb family safari option. Please note children age 6 and above can join in the ‘adult’ drives or book a Family Suite with your own private vehicle and no age restrictions.

Alternatively the lodge offers the “bush bumble” safari which is much shorter and aimed at younger children, avoiding deliberate close encounters with dangerous game and making the experience more tactile and varied in order to keep their attention.

Looking after younger guests

Children receive a Brat Pack which includes:

• Something Educational (as far as possible the activities below are focused on the local environment and wildlife)
• Basic Identification guide
• Animal list with English and Tswana Names
• Age-appropriate games
• Colouring books

Children’s Meals

The lodge do not have a set menu for children and will do their best to prepare children’s meals to order.

Babysitting & Supervised Activities

• Children may participate in Bush Bumble program, where the children are entertained and occupied with fun and educational activities.
• “Bush walks” (in camp) to collect seeds and leaves etc. to make pictures and masks for a masquerade dinner!
• Play dough (for younger kids)
• Cookie making (We make the dough and bake them and get the children to decorate them with coloured icing and sweets)
• Plaster casting of animal tracks.

Baby sitting facilities are available, so that parents can enjoy a safari or dinner without having to worry about their children.

Room Types

8 Standard suites and a Deluxe suite.

Suites feature :

• Twin beds with king size available on request.
• Full en-suite bathroom and outside shower.
• Tea & coffee making facilities.
• Mini bar fridge.
• Mini safes.
• Climate control air-conditioning system.
• Closed system fire places.
• Covered patio.

The Deluxe Suite with wonderful views overlooking the water hole and incorporates 2 suites for up to 4 adults / children. Features include:

• All inclusions in standard suites
• Lounge & dining room.
• Private plunge pool and boma deck
• Private vehicle and chef (rates are also inclusive of South African drinks unlike standard rates).

Family

The Family Safari option offers stunning private accommodation (The Deluxe Suite) for up to four adults and two children, all safe and secure under one roof. The private pool can also be fitted with a safety net when not in use for those with younger children.

This safari option includes a private vehicle, with your very own ranger and tracker, offering tailored safari activities, including game drives on open 4×4 vehicles and walking safaris (over 16 yrs old only). As the vehicle is for your exclusive use, safaris can be tailored to the special requirements of your family and can include even the youngest children. All children are included in the children’s program.

Please note meals are enjoyed at the Main Lodge facility (private chef is not included in this rate, nor is house drinks) where guests can socialize and the special dietary requirements of children are catered for.

Rates

Rates start from £291 per person sharing a Suite on a fully inclusive basis (Valid 01/10/11 – 30/04/12 as well as 01/10/12 – 30/11/12). During low season rates are fron £217 per adult sharing per night (Valid 01/05/12 – 30/09/12)
The Family Suite starts from £1,700 per suite per night on a fully inclusive basis.

Family

Children sharing a normal room with their parents pay 50% of the adult rate.
