Great accommodation in a wonderful setting
by John Jefferson on Mon Oct 17 20:44:41 +0000 2011

The accommodation was outstanding and our luxury suite came wiht a private terrace complete with hammock. The bathroom with terrific views out over the forest did not enjoy quite such a high standard of decoration as the bedroom, and felt rather cold (at least for the winter season). Breakfasts at Hog Hollow were to die for and the quality of the food and the level of service at dinner were second to none (although some might prefer to have more choice). Hog Hollow has an exceptionally high quality of service and all the staff are attentive and will go out of their way to make your stay special.

Our third amazing venue for our South African adventure, and our third to exceed expectations. Excellent service, excellent food, amazing views, and a brilliant base from which to do many things without driving too far. Recommendations are Monkeyworld, and also Tanikwa (go for the ‘combo’ where you get to actually take a Cheetah for a walk). Having the monkeys share your breakfast with you is quite an experience! It’s also great to have communal dining, and a chance to chat to fellow travellers.

Excellent

The Lodge was African traditional but a tad past its best. Excellent view and privacy. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful and the staff used caterpaults to keep the monkeys from the buffet! On Feb 14th the Manager gave each male guest a rose for his partner and 2 small bottle of bubbly on the table.

Brilliant

Lots of activities nearby and the staff and guides were again first class. We ate at the hotel every night and can highly recommend the food.

Nice surroundings
by JULIE CONNOLLY on Sun Sep 12 19:58:51 +0000 2010

At 18 km from Plett it is a long way from civilisation, but set in very natural surroundings. The suite was large and very comfortable but do note there are no TVs in the rooms here. The service was good but the restaurant was a little pretentious and expensive for what you get, so we only ate there once.

Superb
by Jane Sherwood on Mon Apr 26 21:26:49 +0000 2010

The hotel lived up to Bushbaby’s warm recommendation and we were really pleased to stay somewhere run almost entirely by staff from the local community. Superb service, suite, food, views, monkeys etc which we so loved!

FANTASTIC!

Wonderful lodge, impeccable service from all staff who were so helpful and excellent food. The views were stunning and breakfast outside in the sun (even in August) was lovely. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

Amazing accommodation
by Kerry McCracken on Tue May 26 16:38:19 +0000 2009

The Lodge has breathtaking views and an excellent service organising and booking tours. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed the communal dining experience (even though it was our Honeymoon!).
