Overview

Children are welcome at the Lodge and will especially benefit from the location in the middle of the Park and surrounded by wildlilfe. Regretfully, children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular game drives. Children aged 6 to 11 years are accommodated on game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion.

Babysitting & Supervised Activities

• Childminding is available at an additional cost.
• Children get aprons and bake cookies under supervision – using food coloring as paints.
• The professional ranger will take the children out for a ‘butterfly and flowers’ walk around the lodge area.
• Balls juggling by the lake shore guided by Masai Warriors.

Safety

• Animals: The lodge is unfenced.
• Height: All the rooms are located in the tree houses.
• Water: The lodge pool is set in a secluded area beside the lodge but not fenced off.

Room Types

Elegant stilted treehouses are cradled in the boughs of mahogany trees, ensuring privacy for all guests. Built of timber and makuti (palm fronds), the interiors are bleached, earthy and stylishly understated. Rooms are spacious with sitting areas and viewing decks. Ensuite bathrooms with a bath, outdoor shower, twin hand basins and private w.c. All rooms are equipped with fans, mosquito nets, in room safe, telephone, hairdryer, and laundry is included.

Family

All rooms are located in the tree houses. They are quite roomy and can easily accommodate an extra bed for a child 16 and younger sharing with parents. No more than one triple in the camp at any one time.

Rates

The rates are from £566 per person which includes accommodation, 3 meals daily, all soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas & coffees, refreshments on game drives, laundry, scheduled safari activities and transfers to and from Manyara airstrip. (valid 11/11/11 – 20/12/11 and 01/05/12 – 31/05/12, and 11/11/12 – 20/12/2 )

Family

• Children under 6 years sharing stay free of charge.
• Children age 6 to 11 years (sharing with 2 adults or 1 adult) subject to triple policy pay 50% of the full adult rate.
• First child (regardless of age) in own room pays full adult rate subsequent children 11 years & younger pay 50% of full adult rate.
• Children 12 to 16 years subject to triple policy pay full adult rate.
• Children in their own suite pay adult rates.
