Please note: these are inclusive in price unless otherwise stated.

• Pool: All Lodges benefit from an private plunge pools for cooling off and relaxing during the day except Zuka Lodge and The Homestead which has one pool each for exclusive use.
• Game Drives: Morning and evening game drives are included in open vehicles with drinks, snacks, rugs and ponchos included. Children between the ages of 6 and 11, are welcome to join the game drives at most of the lodges whilst all ages can accompany parents in a private vehicle at The Homestead.
• Walking Safaris: Walking safaris for those aged 12 and over, both close to the lodge and further into the Bush to view larger game, are available if booked in advance.

Bars & Restaurants

• An interactive kitchen serve food with flair at The Homestead, whilst guests have the opportunity to enjoy stunning Bush views or waterholes. Guests at The Homestead and Zuka Lodge benefit from private chef and dining facilities.
• Each lodge provides comfortable areas to settle down and read a wildlife book or enjoy a drink with your Ranger before Dinner. The deep verandas and expansive viewing decks offer a wonderful location to soak up the magical atmosphere.

NB Direct shuttle flights available Friday – Monday inclusive departing Johannesburg at 10:00 and arriving Phinda at 11:40 then returning at Midday. For departures / arrivals on Tuesday – Thursday inclusive, guests will need to take a scheduled flight to / from Richard’s Bay combined with a 2 hour road transfer.

Please note no children under 12 are accepted at Rock Lodge.

The Lodges provide a variety of spacious family accommodation options whilst the ‘Planet Manager’ educational programme will enable younger guests to make the most of this unique experience.
Looking after younger guests

Children age age 6 and above (younger children are generally allowed on a shorter game drive after breakfast) are allowed on the adult game drives whilst there are no age restrictions when staying at Zuka or The Homestead as a private vehicle is provided. A private vehicle at the other lodges can also be booked for an additional charge for those wishing to take children under 6 on the main game drives.

Babysitting & Supervised activities

• Babysitting: In-house staff provide babysitting facilities.

• CC Africa’s Plant Manager’s Programme: Children are welcomed at each lodge with a special programme of adventures from bug collection, to pooh-identification walks and are presented with a special book full of entertaining and informative wildlife activities.

Safety

• Animals: Please note that all lodges are un-fenced.
• Water: Each lodge has a Swimming pool and some has plunge pools. Safety nets for these are available on request.

Room types

The Homestead: An exclusive, sole-use villa perfect for small parties. The four spacious suites accommodate eight guests and feature unique sliding panel windows framing the beautiful views, and infuse a contemporary Zulu vernacular on the ambience. Ensuite bathrooms feature indoor and outdoor showers.

Forest Lodge: The 16 air-conditioned glass suites are built on stilts and appear to float between the rare Sand Forest floor and the towering torchwood trees. The suites are situated to ensure absolute privacy and each bathroom features twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c. All suites have a personal bar on their private veranda.

Mountain Lodge: The lodge features 25 air conditioned suites each with ensuite bathroom comprising bath, shower, separate w.c. and twin hand basins. All suites have a sitting area, personal bar and private veranda complete with plunge pool and romantic al fresco shower.

Rock Lodge: Six exceptional suites perched on the side of a rocky cliff. Each suite has a spacious bedroom with bath, shower, twin hand basins and separate w.c. All suites have their own private sitting area, personal bar, plunge pool and deck offering unrivalled views of spectacular Leopard Rock and the valley below.

Vlei Lodge: The Lodge as 6 stilted glass and thatch suites in the rare Sand Forest. All suites have a personal bar and private plunge pools.

Zuka Lodge: Just four thatched Zululand bush cottages set 15 metres (50 feet) apart, featuring verandas overlooking a busy waterhole ideal for groups. Air-conditioned bedrooms have fans and ensuite bathrooms, with a circular stone bath chamber.

Family

The Homestead offers inter-connecting accommodation and private game drive vehicle and is therefore ideal for family groups.

At Zuka, sitting areas in the bedrooms feature built-in sofas which double as a single bed for a child. Please note the 4 suites do not interlead so it is not safe for children to walk between rooms un-accompanied by a member of staff at night (although telephones are in the rooms).

Mountain Lodge has 3 suites with a fold-out sleeper sofa in each to accomodate up to 2 children sharing. A family suite with four bedrooms and a shared sitting area can also be booked.

Children can stay at Forest and Vlei Lodges, but cannot share with their parents ie no triples / quad room arrangements available. As at Zuka, please note the suites do not interlead.

Children under 12 are permitted at Rock Lodge due to safety reasons.

Rates

• From £295 per night per adult sharing at Mountain and Forest Lodge.
• From £362 per night per adult sharing at Vlei and Rock Lodge.

• From £1720 per night at Zuka Lodge for exclusive use for up to 4 guests.

Family

• Children under age 6 stay free of charge.
• Children aged 6 – 16 years sharing with parents pay 50% of the adult rate.
• First child in own room pays adult sharing rate and subsequent children under 12 are charged at child sharing rates.
• Zuka Lodge and The Homestead rates are based on a unit cost as above.
