Isibindi Zulu Lodge
Situated in a private game reserve in the ruggedly beautiful Zululand, the Lodge is only a stone’s throw away from the historically momentous Anglo-Zulu battlefields. This peaceful bushveld retreat offers activities including game-viewing, battlefield tours and Zulu cultural experiences.

- Activities include daily game drives or walks in to the Isibindi Eco-Reserve (home to giraffe, wilderbeest, zebra etc) as well as tours to the nearby Battlefields (Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana) and on-site cultural evenings or visits to a Zulu Homestead (charge may be applicable).
Bars & Restaurants
- Breakfast and lunches are served on the expansive verandah or by the pool.
- Dinner is enjoyed in the atmospheric dining room.
- A unique bar carved out of a Wait-a-Bit Thorn Tree’ is the perfect venue for a cooling drink.
Overview
The variety of experiences from game drives and walks to Zulu cultural tours make for an exciting stay. Whilst no specific activities are offered for families, there are no age restrictions on the Battlefield Tours (it is just a question of whether you feel your child will enjoy themselves!).

There are some basic board games available at the lodge.
Children’s Meals
Children under 12 are served dinner at 18h00. Parents can discuss their children’s menu with lodge staff by lunchtime each day.
Babysitting & Supervised activities
This is done by local staff and needs to be pre-arranged for a charge.
Rooms Types
Architecturally inspired by the traditional Zulu beehive shape, the 6 beehive suites offer panoramic views from private viewing decks over the game reserve and its diverse habitats ranging from montane grassland to riverine forests. All are en-suite with overhead fan (but not air-conditioning).
The Honeymoon suite, comanding views of a particularly game rich area of the reserve, also has a romantic sunken stone bath.
Family
- One additional child can share a room with their parents.
- Please note the Lodge does not have cots or interleading room options and the suites are spaced along the ridge for privacy.
Rates
The room rates starts from £118 per person sharing (Valid 01/05/12 – 31/08/12). Rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, teas & coffees, one daily game activity and include a Zulu Boma Dinner if staying 2 nights or more.

- Children aged 3 and younger stay for free
- Children age 4 – 12 sharing pay 50%
- Children age 12 plus sharing pay 75%
