As Bushbaby told us, not the calibre of the 5 star hotels in our itinerary, but it was absolutely right to have a couple of nights around the Cape between the flight back from Port Elizabeth and the flight home and Spier fulfilled that role admirably.

The hotel was fine, although if we had our time again I think I would have gone for a smaller hotel.

A final night here before flying home was a nice way to finish the trip.

It’s a bigger hotel than the others we stayed at, so there wasn’t the personal touch and the staff seemed less friendly, but to be expected I guess from the price and size (Bowden Family, Jan 09).

Spier was also a lovely hotel but being a bit bigger (than Winchester Mansions and Blue Gum) the service wasn’t quite as good. We still had a great time depsite the cold and wet weather! (Saltiel Family, December 08)
