After travelling to South Africa before we had our first son William, we were keen to return after he was born, but discovered that little information was available in regards to which hotels not only provided good facilities for families, but would even allow us to stay now we had a child! This inspired us to set up Bushbaby Travel, to offer parents wishing to visit South Africa and Mauritius, a personalised and informed service leading to the creation of an imaginative, tailor-made holiday.
Since our launch many couples, including Honeymooners have also been attracted by our high levels of service offered for competitive rates and we are now delighted to expand our programme throughout the Indian Ocean and into Arabia.
Expert Knowledge
We have visited every property (with the exception of a few hotels which have been visited by our trusted representatives) so that we can be confident we will be booking you into the best hotel or safari lodge to meet your unique needs.
Abi has also successfully passed her FUNDI examination, a destination expert course managed by South Africa Tourism. FUNDI means ‘expert’ in the Nguni languages of South Africa!
We are also members of SATOA, the Southern Africa Travel Organisers Association. Member organisations provide an unrivalled source of information about travel to the region, to ensure the very best holiday experience.
Personal Service
We are a small, focused company, passionate about our destinations and enthusiastic about encouraging others to experience these stunning countries. We can provide all the guidance and advice you need to be confident about traveling with or without children and if we can’t answer a question, we will know who can!
Our partners within our destinations, who will meet you upon your arrival and will be on hand 24 hours a day during your stay, also strive to offer the same level of support. This will ensure a seamless, personal service from the moment you contact us, until the moment you arrive home.

The air holidays we sell are ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. ATOL Protection extends primarily to customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom. Click on the ATOL logo if you want to know more.
Further, in compliance with the UK Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 and the Civil Aviation (Air Travel Organiser’s Licensing) Regulations 1995 an insurance policy has been arranged with Travel & General Insurance Company plc to protect customers’ prepayments paid in respect of
* flight inclusive packages commencing and returning to the UK * non-flight inclusive packages commencing and returning to the UK * the ground handling aspects of packages where the customer is responsible for arranging travel to the destinations offered in this website (subject to the terms of the insurance policy), for: * a refund of such prepayments if customers have not yet travelled * making arrangements to enable the holiday to continue if customers have already travelled or * repatriation of customers to the UKin the unlikely event of our financial failure.
We are also a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators, committing to their Quality Charter.
